Can you shop for your teen at a Thrift Store?
YES you can find things that your teen would love at a Thrift Store! The question is can you get them to actually go into a thrift store without blindfolding them. I would have locked myself in the car if my mom tried to get me into Goodwill when I was a teenager! I am fortunate to have two boys that could care less where their clothes come from. As long as they have clothing in their closets and food in the fridge they are happy. I am very lucky that one didn’t come back to haunt me.
My nieces LOVE to thrift shop with me but that is because I’m not thier mother and it seems like fun when I take them. When I first started taking “Katie the Intern” with me thrift shopping she wouldn’t touch a thing and looked like there were snakes hiding in the racks. That was until we found a ton of JCrew in her size. She is now converted, goes on her own and has the best “thrift vision”. She even tells people that she got her adorable outfits at “Goodwill!”.
See the sparkly Sperry Top siders we are wearing? Mine are silver $7.99 at Goodwill and hers are $79.99 at Nordstrom. She spied them from across the store and could not believe someone would donate NEW Sperrys! I was pretty shocked myself. I think they look pretty amazing and no we do not dress like twins.
