Studded Shorts DIY
Are you ready to transform a pair of Thrift Shop Jeans into fabulous Studded Cut-Offs? You have come to the right place!
Here is the tutorial. It’s EASY!
Take a pair of shorts that you like and match up the crotch so you know how long to cut your Thrift Store Jeans. Now cut about an inch and a half BELOW that line. You can always make them shorter but you can make them longer! Katie the Intern wanted them to be wearable so we went for a modest length.
After you cut the first leg, fold the jeans in half and cut along the same line for the second leg. That will make sure that both legs are the same length. Extra Sharp Scissors really help!
We used iron on studs from JoAnn Fabric. You can use the studs with the prongs in the back but it takes longer and can scratch you up! Place the studs where you want them and iron them on with a very hot iron.
Once you iron them on you can take off the clear plastic covering. We used two rows of studs. Once they have cooled completely you can go back and use some E-600 glue if any of the studs aren’t sticking. You could glue each one on but that is too much work for me!
Not too short, and just enough edge.
Not bad for less than $10.00 and one afternoon!!
