Apple Pie in a Cute Jar

Apple Pie in a Jar

Want an adorable mini apple pie recipe?  Well, today is your lucky day!  Just grab a glass jar.  This one is a Bonne Maman jar.

I used a biscuit cutter slightly smaller than the jar.  I could have gone one size larger it turns out.  But that is neither here nor there.

Now cut some circles out of a flour tortilla or a rolled pie crust if you have it.

Grab some cinnamon sugar.

A little butter…

A little cinnamon sugar now into the oven at 400 for 5 minutes, then check them.  I wanted super crunchy!

Now we start to layer.  One cinnamon crisp.

I cut up one granny smith apple and sauteed it in a little bit of butter, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened apple sauce, and add a bit of cinnamon for good measure.  Now scoop some in.

Add another cinnamon crisp on top.

Whip up some cream.  Or spray it out of a can.

Try to get a photo before you eat it all.

Turns out the cinnamon crisps are delicious just dipped in freshly whipped cream.   Enjoy!!

(This recipe makes 2 jars of goodness.  Just add more apples and tortillas for more.)

Simple recipe but great idea. However, if I do make this a day in advanced and put in the fridge, would the cinnamon crisp be softened or still crisp? I would love to try it.

It looks really pretty too! I would eat it if I liked cooked apples and whipped cream 🙂
