Coconut Oil Coffee Sugar Scrub DIY
You know what I really love? Coffee. I love it. It kills my stomach, but I drink it anyway.
It’s like a bad boyfriend that you just can’t quit.
The internet says that caffeine scrubs magically takes away cellulite. Well sign me up for that! You know that they can’t say it if it wasn’t true. (There’s that bad boyfriend talking again.)
Please tell me I’m not the only one that hoards glass jars. This is the perfect thrifty way to recycle some!
Along with hoarding things, I also enjoy drinking cold press coffee. Subsequently I have a lot of coffee grounds just waiting to be reused.
You just use coarse ground coffee (ask the barista and he will grind it for you), and then add water. Coffee to water ratio is about 5 to 1. You let the mixture sit for 8 hours and then strain out the coffee grounds. Leaving you the perfect coffee ground to scrub yourself with.
It’s called the Toddy Cold Brew System. You could use any coffee grounds, but I thought I would tell you about the amazing Toddy System.
Once you have Toddied yourself some delicious coffee use about a cup or so of the DRIED grounds.
Just leave them out on the counter overnight.
Then I used about a cup or so of sugar. Just eyeball it.
Now top it off with MELTED and cooled Organic Coconut Oil.
I say Organic because you don’t want chemicals all scrubbed up on your body.
Then give it a stir and put it in the fridge.
Take it out and give it a stir every 20 minutes or so.
This is what it will look like when it is almost solid.
Now you don’t have to do the next part, but it is fun and it makes the scrub sooo fluffy.
Take your whisk attachment and whisk it allll up for about 10 minutes on full power.
This is what it looks like all whisked up.
This sugar scrub would make a lovely gift. You could even give it to your special someone for Valentine’s Day. My darling husband doesn’t like coffee, so I won’t be giving him any. I KNOW?! Can you believe I am married to an actual person that doesn’t drink coffee. Strange.
Scrub it up! And then scrub up a friend!

Thanks for the recipe. I will go make another cup of coffee and start drying the grounds to make this scrub.
